Bikes and Laughter: A Cloudy Afternoon in Sun Valley, Idaho

During our visits to Sun Valley, I always reach out to new families, hoping they need updated family photos. I love photographing families in different cities and towns because it gives me the opportunity to connect with them on a deeper level; new faces, new locations, different topic of conversations.

We started our session with picking flowers and chasing the oldest toddler down with his bike. He was so excited to show me his “boo-boo”, a gnarly looking scar that he proudly showed off.

What I love most about photographing families with young children is the the unpredictability. Toddlers remind us that real moments matter more than perfect ones. Every laugh, every muddy shoe, every parent reaching down to scoop up a wiggly child- that’s what makes these images more meaningful.

Sun Valley offers such a stunning natural backdrop, but it’s the love and connection between families that truly brings the photos to life.
